Legendary Magazine™ is always looking for artists! (Medieval fantasy themes with occasional sci-fi, steampunk, and modern works as needed.)
• At this time, Legendary Magazine™ is only able to take donated art contributions; contributing artists will receive a free PDF copy of any issue that their work has appeared in.
• We prefer color art when possible.
• If you submit photos, they will almost certainly be altered in some way and/or used as reference or parts of larger works.

What we're always looking for
• Fantasy symbols, weapons, outfits, people, books, tools, potions, anything.
• Fantasy land- and cityscapes.
• Fantasy backgrounds, textures, doodles, and art elements.
• Monsters
• Fantasy character portraits and action paintings.

Technical Info for Submissions
• File Types: GIF is preferred and JPEG, PNG, or TIFF are standard. We'll contact you if we receive a file format that we can't use. GIF format is handled best by our layout program.
• Size: Our magazine will run at 800x600 px, landscape. We suggest 150 dpi but 72 dpi is the minimum.
• Trade Dress1: Here is what our default blank page looks like. There may occasionally be different layouts for special articles but this will be our usual design. This example is not full size, it's just for basic, visual reference.
• Maturity/Adult Content: Because this magazine is an independent venture, we can publish the content we choose without worrying about oversight. We have decided to make this an adult publication. This does not mean pornography or senseless violence. This does mean that gore and sexuality in the name of 'awesome' and 'epic' are ok. Each submission will be reviewed and if there's a problem, we'll let you know. We're pretty easy going! If you have questions about something in particular, please email us before you spend days or weeks on a project!
• Copyrighted/Trademarked Subjects: We cannot accept images of copyrighted or trademarked characters, objects, places, races, etc. If you have questions about your art, please email us.

Quality and Style
• color vs. b&w: We ask for color because the PDF is color but we wouldn't turn something down just because it's b&w; great art transcends the color boundary! So if you have b&w art, don't hesitate to submit it. However, cover art will be almost exclusively color.
• When it comes to quality (meaning sketch vs. polished), we have no specific limits. It just depends on the subject of the art and the needs of that particular issue. Sketches are great for miscellaneous graphic interest. And, who knows, some of what artists consider 'sketchwork' is really great!
